[5 Dec 2013 | Comments Off on Keeping Christ in Christmas | ]

When you walk up to the counter at a shop and pay for your gift, does the salesperson usually say “Happy Holidays!” or “Merry Christmas?”
With each passing holiday season, it seems as though fewer and fewer people are saying Merry Christmas. Is this because nobody celebrates Christmas anymore, or because we are so afraid to offend someone that we are pushing our own personal beliefs aside?

[5 Dec 2013 | Comments Off on Domestic or Import? | ]

This is it: the argument that plagues car forums and comment threads. It seems that you either have to take one side or the other. “Hey, buddy, which are you? Import or domestic?” Why do you have to choose? You don’t. In my opinion, this whole “choose a side” business is to the car scene what peer pressuring kids to smoke in middle school was. The Mountaineers were able to tarnish the Bruins’ undefeated mark with a thrilling 111-106 victory.
There was no love lost between these two teams. They battled each other in the OCAA gold medal game last March. The Bruins won that contest 88-70.
The excitement was palpable in the David Braley Athletic Recreation Centre and the Mountaineers were …

[5 Dec 2013 | Comments Off on Tarnasky thriving in expanded role for Bulldogs | ]

(Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Club)

When the Montreal Canadiens signed veteran forward Nick Tarnasky over the summer, they knew they were getting an experienced player who wouldn’t shy away from dropping the gloves.
However, the organization probably didn’t expect the 230-pound enforcer to be leading the Hamilton Bulldogs in goal scoring through the month of December.
That’s exactly what Tarnasky has done, scoring a team-high seven goals for Hamilton so far this season.
While his production has come as a surprise to most, Tarnasky is just thankful for the opportunity that he’s been given.
“It’s a …
